Artist's Description
There is a beach on the southern Oregon Coast below a bluff. We can climb down to this pebble beach and then hike south where there is a collection of huge redwood stumps washed up on shore. They are so large that we wonder at the intensity of the storm that brought them ashore. They have been there a long time and are beautifully polished by the waves. Many have faces that look back at you, telling secrets of long ago. Amid all the enormous redwood driftwood, I found this Unicorn.
About Larry Bacon
FOLLOWING THE DREAM - Charlotte and I met in late 1979 when we both worked at Lawrence Livermore Laboratories. We both dreamed of a simpler life, so in 1981, we literally "dropped out" and lived off the grid for the next six years. We mined for gold, cut and sold firewood, did yard work, painted houses... whatever it took to put food on the table. We relished the simple lifestyle and the total serenity of the wilderness. That was just the beginning of a life of adventure and "taking the road less traveled". In 1988 we moved to "town" and began a new adventure.
