This one was painted by Charlotte's mother who was an accomplished artist in her own right. Remembering the old days, when you had to go to the pasture to find the bathroom. Charlotte and I actually utilized one of these when we lived off the grid in Northern California. I know, it's a strange subject matter for a piece of artwork but how appropriate for your country bathroom or cabin.
FOLLOWING THE DREAM - Charlotte and I met in late 1979 when we both worked at Lawrence Livermore Laboratories. We both dreamed of a simpler life, so in 1981, we literally "dropped out" and lived off the grid for the next six years. We mined for gold, cut and sold firewood, did yard work, painted houses... whatever it took to put food on the table. We relished the simple lifestyle and the total serenity of the wilderness. That was just the beginning of a life of adventure and "taking the road less traveled". In 1988 we moved to "town" and began a new adventure.
