This sunset photo was taken in Nevada County, California. It was winter and they had been snow falling that day. Near sunset the clouds began to open and Mother Nature really put on a show. We were visiting a friend on her ranch in Chicago Park, in the gold country of California. Our gold was in the sky that day.
About Larry Bacon
FOLLOWING THE DREAM - Charlotte and I met in late 1979 when we both worked at Lawrence Livermore Laboratories. We both dreamed of a simpler life, so in 1981, we literally "dropped out" and lived off the grid for the next six years. We mined for gold, cut and sold firewood, did yard work, painted houses... whatever it took to put food on the table. We relished the simple lifestyle and the total serenity of the wilderness. That was just the beginning of a life of adventure and "taking the road less traveled". In 1988 we moved to "town" and began a new adventure.
